As a kid I loved anything mechanical. so I gravitated towards cameras and watches. anything I could break 😂
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
a basic swatch.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My Debethune DB27 Havana is one of only 10 but yet it’s numbered #007. 😊 I’m a big James Bond fan.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
1) Don’t get caught up in what other people are buying. just because Rolex’s are popular doesn’t mean you have to have a Rolex. 2) I would also say don’t buy on impulse. (as one who’s done this too many times. just because you can it doesn’t mean you should). 3) last I’d say limit the number of inexpensive watches you buy. the numbers can add up quickly…and that could be a really nice watch scattered amongst 10 watches.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I’m infatuated of late with vintage Pateks…and I have a big crush on Gronefeld. The most beautiful movements! Urwerk, Debethune, Romain Gauthier and MB&F have my attention also these days. down the independent road. 🚀
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I personally don’t like the idea of a Grail. Cant put a Watch on a pedestal…bad karma. I’d be thrilled to own a Tiffany 5270R though 😉
