Is there a technique to setting the time on the 7002?
So I bought this for myself as a 28th birthday present and its become a daily, it was apparently fully refurbished by a Seiko specialist. The problem is when I have to set the time, the hands still move around as im screwing it down. Is this just a case of a bad restoration job, or is this typical of old Seikos and if so how do I make it easier to set?.

Not an expert, but it sounds like something is wrong. Just to get the obvious out of the way, make sure you push the crown in all the way before trying to thread it. Assuming that you already knew that, if you're still encountering the problem I'd have it looked at by a professional. Might be something wrong with the keyless works.
