Trying on a few other brands might help you discover the missing thing that‘s holding you back. I like the Spirit in the smaller size, as well as Breitling Aviator8 41mm day-date (the one I own), IWC in the 36mm, Alpina, Fortis. The last 2 are less expensive and gorgeous, though I haven’t seen them in the flesh.

The Rado True Square looks nice to me, though I haven’t seen one in person. Is anyone familiar with it?

Here’s my newest watch (Rolex Explorer). I like the 36mm size, which fits my wrist better than the 40+mm watches you typically see.

I had a Rolex OP Date from about 1995 as my first luxury watch. I absolutely loved it for about 20 years and then regrettably sold it! My latest is the Rolex Explorer and I’m happy to be back with Rolex.
