Big guys with big wrists check in; what are you wearing?

Would love to see what other fellow "yetis" out there are rocking. For reference, I'm 6'9" tall, 365lb, and have a 8.6" wrist. I've just started my co...

Hi all. I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and ended up running into the Nove Trident Automatic. Specifically this one: https://nove.com/products/nove-...

True that! 🍻

Definitely. I haven't gotten it to not be able to spin though, but also I don't wear it in sand or mud. That's what my GShocks are for 😉

It cleans up easily enough; scrub with a soft toothbrush under warm running water for a few seconds and its as good as new.

I understand your opinion. I don't agree with it.

Cheers!

I own a Vortic; mine is a Waltham Vanguard Railroad. Its a stunning piece. I've also held/tried on a few other examples, including their most recent Military Edition. Each has its own character and story to tell.

I've met the owner of Vortic in person and had occasion to speak with a few of his employees. All quality folks with a shared passion.

Are they a "watch company"? Yes.

When someone asks me about my "watch", I gladly tell them its a Waltham Railroad pocketwatch from 1918 restored and converted for wrist by Vortic Watch Co. FWIW, while chatting, showing, and telling, nobody has ever asked "yeah but is Vortic a REAL watch company though?" Just doesn't happen 🙄

PS: That lawsuit mentioned earlier, that they won, is legitimately a landmark case; it has far greater implications than Vortic's survival, and broader scope than "watches". It sets precedent that protects any upcycling or repurposing business across any industry.

Just a quick update for those who might be following this:  @marcusmenescal was as good as his word, got with me first thing and has gone above and beyond to ensure I can enjoy the 528 to its fullest.  I'm not exaggerating when I say the customer service Marcus and Moels has shown me rivals that of the finest factory ADs I've interacted with selling offerings at 15x plus the cost (better even, in some cases in my experience).  First class all the way, and bend over backwards effort.

Based on everything so far, I'm thrilled to be supporting Moels with my purchase.  I can't wait to see what more they bring us in the future.

This watch and your daughter's story both have struck a chord with me.  I just ordered the Metallic Fir!  Also added the mesh band to accompany. Can't wait for December!

One thing you might be able to confirm maybe?  I have a 22cm (8.6") wrist. The sizing printout shows the leather strap will work for me on the last or second to last hole, and the mesh seems like it'll be a little longer for a better fit.  Would you agree both are probably all good for my wrist?

Thanks! Very excited, either way.

Dealing with customer support has been a chore.  Many attempts to reach out and several days later I finally got a response; they're willing to send me 4x half links for free (good on them!) but I have to pay $30 shipping to the US (that seems a bit much, but ok).  Did and done (via the PayPal link they sent) but no follow up in more than a day since regarding confirmation of payment received or tracking info.

I think things will all work out in the end, but communication along the way needs improving.
