It's Christmas in April, because my new-to-me Orient Dignitary just came in and I couldn't be happier. I'm a card carrying member of the Seiko fan club, and while I've tried in the past to expand into other brands like Citizen, Orient, Hamilton, etc. - their offerings weren't enough to pull me away from another Seiko...
Until last week when I came across the Orient Dignitary while doing research on another tank watch. I've never seen this design before from Orient and from what little I could find out about this watch, it came out about a decade ago? I was able to find only one seller with this specific watch online, on WatchUSeek (am I allowed to say their name here 😉) And it was in excellent condition! The seller was a true watch lover too, you can tell with the care he took throughout the whole transaction. And I ended up making a new friend halfway around the world 👍
So even though it was an impulse buy, I'm so happy. Zero buyer's remorse here. This is gonna be one of my new fav's, I can already tell.

Looks really cool, bud! 👍🏻
Thank you. Can't wait to wear it out. I'm sure it will look good on a black strap, but I want to run with the original bracelet for awhile to get a feel for it.

Yup, a black strap can dress it up quite nicely. Its rectangular case, thin bezel, pointy indices, dauphine hands, mixed in with the sub dials, plus sector-ish dial vibe would surely make it fun to dress up, or even dress down. I'm wondering though if you'll be able to find a fitting black strap as the lug width seems to be quite bigger than usual dress time pieces. You might need to have one custom made by a leather strap artisan. 😉 My go to artisan is Leather Craft Manila. You can check them out on IG -- https://www.instagram.com/leathercraftmanila/
I had a cheap quartz watch before that had a rectangle case design, and a somewhat similar sector-ish vibe, but leaned more towards the Cartier Pasha design.
Can’t go wrong with Orient, the modern ones are pretty much generic designs but some of their older designs are like nothing else out there.

You're right, the band is huge (24mm). Probably will be harder to find good options at this size. But I did check out Leather Craft's IG and they have some great stuff. I'm definitely gonna look into some custom options there, thanks!
