Lately I’ve become simply obsessed, doing deep dives into gold watches of the 70s and 80s. However there’s not a lot of information out there. I was wondering if the kind people here could give me recommendations on a gold watch.
Budget:
$6,000
Requirements:
Solid 14k or 18k yellow gold. No gold plated.
Quartz or mechanical is fine. Quartz slightly preferred.
Much prefer mesh or infinite adjustment style bracelet without removalable links
Stone dials are a plus
Dressy and thin, see photos for reference
I’ve looked at some universal Geneve, Piaget, and Rolex models but my knowledge of other brands and specific models is low.
Thank you in advance!

A solid gold one is over budget and wears too big for me, unfortunately! It was disappointing because the oysterquartz was my dream watch for many years.
I’m getting the feeling I need to increase my budget lol.
No question here , get a gold Patek Calatrava on a gold mesh bracelet. Under 10k if you negotiate. I love them.

I would prefer square or oval shapes, but watches like the ellipse or this are quite nice! A bit too rich for my blood though.
How about this?
Now it says 14kt gold which I assume doesn’t meet your requirements, but maybe it’s a start? Also, I don’t know how the bracelet is adjusted.
Or maybe this?
Or this, IT’S CALL ‘EL MACHO’. HOLY CRAP BUY THIS RIGHT NOW, I’LL WAIT.

I don’t know. What I do know is that you shouldn’t be put off by the fact some of their watches are $6,000 and some are $160.
