I started dating a girl who told me I needed a better watch. So I upgraded from Walmart to Michael Kors. A year later, my grandfather passed away and left behind an Omega Constellation. I opened the caseback and saw the filthy movement and my grandmother's (who died before I was born) initials engraved with service dates on the caseback. The rest is history, and the girl who told me I needed a better watch is now my wife.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
No name blue dial dress watch. My first nerd purchase was a Benrus on eBay.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My grandfather's Omega Constellation.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy what you like. Not everything needs to stay in your collection and your collection doesn't need any rules. Have fun. Buy, sell, trade, explore, learn, and enjoy the process.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Cartier and Zenith are my current favorites. Omega always has my heart though.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
It changes as my watch journey progresses, but at the moment it is something along the lines of a Moser Pioneer Tourbillon.
