State of the collection

On wrist today is a Vostok Amphibia. Freshly cleaned of all wrist cheese and partially serviced. Keeping great time by the way.

Well. As I have progressed into this passion I have become comfortable with myself, my tastes, my desires and my budget. Here is the current state of affairs. I have traded a few, sold a few and lost a few over the years. As of now I will not be caught without one on my wrist. The small box are ones I cycle through periodically. Don't wear these as often as I should, but small box is a keep for sure. Big box are the watches that I have no feeling for anymore. Watches that are just here. I love having the option but can't justify owning any of these pieces any more as my tastes have changed.

After purchasing my black bay, everything else has seemed to not suffice. Does the it have an alarm? No. Does it have a date? No. Does it tell time. Yes. The bracelet and 200m water resistance is pretty much all I need. Tudar has nailed it with a GADA piece. It has been my daily since I've purchased it and can't really seem to enjoy other pieces. I don't need the date. I don't need alarms. I don't need the bells and whistles.

After acquiring a piece I have loved since I was a boy by sheer luck/chance only to find out I do not have any attraction or desire to wear it. (Hamilton ventura) (never before seen one in, or on the flesh in person). This has really shook me up and made me want to rid myself of the big box.

My question to you lot: is this a common thing? I will forever love the industy as a whole. The history and the community within. Always learning and growing. Just want to hear from you all on what you would do.

Cheers!

How do you like the Traska? They look great and don’t cost a ton.

Was my daily until I got my tudor. Can't go wrong. Almost purchased the ranger and not the black bay, but the traska hits all my boxes to where I couldn't justify the ranger. Fit and finish is fantastic. My only hang-up was getting the sand colored dial and not the blue or black. Wanted to go slightly different but really enjoy the watch. Won't ever get rid of it. Been through some shit that watch and I.

What did you pay, if you don’t mind me asking? And yeah, that’s how I feel with my G Shock Rangeman. It survived deployment lol. Can’t get rid of it lol.

I got it new. What ever retail was. Had a discount code so it was 5 and some change. Free shipping.

Congratulations on finding a watch that you absolutely love. I would love to have a Black Bay but it’s out of my price range. It seems like none of your other watches are very expensive so I would keep them; it’s not like you’d get a whole lot of money for selling them. If you don’t wear them they will remind you of nice memories. You may get tired of wearing the BB every day and when that happens you’ll have some nice change of pace watches. My tastes have changed and watches have fallen in and out of favor with me. I’m glad I still have them all.
