The Legendary Diver that Gave the SKX a Run for it's Money

So, after about a year of owning an Eco-Drive version of the Promaster diver, model BN0150-10E, I decided to give the automatic version a try.

The model number is the NY0040-17 with a nice, blue sunburst effect. The dial says it features the 8203 Miyota, but the case back says otherwise. It does in fact hack, so the movement inside is actually the 8204. This was a happy discovery.

I literally just strapped it on my wrist, so I don't have a lot of time spent with it yet. Unlike the Eco-Drive version, the supplied rubber strap is very pliable and comfortable. The BN0150's strap is stiff and very much a pain in the ass to wear. The bezel action is nice and chunky, with a very secure clunk-clunk with each rotation.

Very happy to have picked up this classic ISO-rated diver for such a great price ($159 before tax plus free shipping) which is now out of stock on Jomashop. I was aways hoping to pick one of these up before the new old stock of these dries up and they are only sold on the second-hand market.

UPDATE: As of this afternoon, I have had the watch for 24 hours, and has only lost 2 seconds during that period. I'd much rather my watch gain time, which what all of my automatics do, but -2 spd is nothing to scoff at.
