I do the design in Inkscape, then print it on water slide decal paper. After sealing the decals, I cut them out by hand and apply them to a lumed dial blank (I use a layer of glow in the dark vinyl to add the lume to the blank), then I seal again and once it’s dry it’s ready to go onto a movement.
Funnily enough, the AirKing before the current one was realized in semi-collaboration with the Bloodhound SSC land speed record car. Not exactly a racecar or a “car” at all really but it is vehicle with wheels that goes fast on the ground.
While the best STIs won’t rev past 8, rest assured the watch “revs” all the way around the dial 😂
Gaskets get a little dodgey after a while tho 😉
