Chronographs for me and still chronographs now. But will like a diver in the collection eventually. Also a dress watch on order, Reverso.
There is an episode of Abbout Effing Time (forget which episode) on YouTube where Adrian Barker mentioned he got his, I think, Rolex Explorer as a FU watch. He became emotional after saying it to the other 2 hosts but never elaborated on the reason why.
Read somewhere only 5% of people will notice your watch and out of these only 2% will comment. So makes you wonder whether if us watch geeks are such rare breed?
I think it comes down to just wearing a watch for your own enjoyment. As someone else mentioned earlier if someone notices and comments it’s a bonus.
