I’ve always admired watches from afar. Asked my mother for an all black Armani Exchange quartz as a teenager. Stopped wearing it after a while but always wore bands and random fabric bracelets. So natural once I had money, my free bracelets started turning into watches.
Also a big car guy and watches are like wearing an engine on your wrist.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
All black quartz Armani Exchange
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Only the ones that were gifts, as to never be sold
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
As everyone says, be patient. The fun is in the hunt, it’s the reality of consumerism. Get hands on as much as possible before buying and unless you have Uber disposable income, make them all represent something special or unique.
More importantly, don’t buy a “reddit collection”, get what you like. You’re the only one that has to look at and wear it.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Tudor, StudioUnderd0g, Longines
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
A Lange and Sohne Lange 1 gold moonphase because duh.
Affordable compromise: Rose gold JLC Reverso small seconds burgundy dial because I saw one in person and the image has never left my mind.
