"Sapphire coated" Does it make a difference?

Would I notice a difference between a sapphire crystal and a sapphire coated mineral one? Can the sapphire coat come off somehow, or is it just a value thing?

Saphire coated? Never heard that one. I would shy away.

I watched that a while ago, and totally forgot about it. Thank you. Im surprised at how good it holds up. I was expecting less.

I really enjoyed that show, although I have been known to view almost any watch channel, no matter how mediocre, which your channel most definitely is not.

I have a Wenger dress watch with a sapphire coated crystal and I've never scratched it. But I have 33 watches. The most expensive one was $180. I have mineral crystal, plastic, Hardlex, sapphire coated and sapphire, and have never scratched any of them. I neither bash nor baby my watches. Two of my little Seiko 5s suffered horrendous falls and had no crystal damage whatsoever. So these days, I don't give the crystal material the importance I once did.
