Lately, I've been impressed by Certina. They don't have much presence in the US market, but they have been around since 1888 and have been worn by divers, mountaineers, and other adventurers on all kinds of historical firsts. Certinas are tough as nails, stylish, and generally under a thousand bucks. That makes for a pretty good value if you ask me! 

Got my original Model 1 back in early 2019. The updated Model 1s have some serious improvements, but this one still has its charms.
