One of the first mechanical watches I ever purchased was the SARB017 Alpinist and it’s a watch I’ve never parted ways with. To me, it’s a perfectly imperfect watch. An amalgamation of numerous different style choices that somehow work together. I recently started wearing my SARB017 again quite a bit and it brought back my long lasting interest in the SARB089 blue alpinist HODINKEE limited edition from a while back. I’ve looked at them numerous times over the years and finally pulled the trigger. And just, wow. Might be the prettiest blue I’ve ever seen on a watch.

Goes good with the Erika's too. Wear it in good health!
Sweet watch, congrats
It shouldn’t work, but it does!

Erika’s are second to none
Sweet watch, congrats
Thanks friend!
This is by far the Alpinist I want the most, but I have a very hard time swallowing the idea of paying double or nearly triple just for cosmetics, especially considering the grails that could get me a good chunk towards

Yep definitely a passion purchase lol. The SARB017 was one of the first mechanical watches I bought myself so I’ve always had a connection to the line. I do like the SPB089 more though.
