Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I’ve always liked watches (especially Seikos) until I started using my Apple Watch more often for the past 2-3 years. Only until I saw (and purchased) the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 last October 2022, which was my very first Swiss watch. Thanks to the PRX, I’m now more into watches than ever before.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch I ever recall owning was a Casio G-Shock that my dad gave me when I was in the 5th grade. I wasn’t really into watches at that age so I never really wore it and eventually lost it. I remember my dad getting so mad and I’ve never forgotten about that watch since. I don’t even know the model! I regret not having appreciated that watch until this day.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
If anything, it would be the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. It was my first Swiss watch and was sort of my gateway into the world of watches.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
ORIS for their Big Crown Pointer Dates, NOMOS and SINN - they just look so clean, TUDOR for the Black Bay 58 (925 version), RADO specifically the 37mm Captain Cook (really love the beads of rice stainless steel bracelets), Rolex and Omega ofcourse 😆
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I have two Grail Watches: Rolex Explorer 36mm - i just love the simple look and everyday feel of this watch that doesn’t scream ROLEX. A piece I can take with me everyday and everywhere. Next would be the Omega Constellation Globemaster 39mm - this is my grail watch for similar reasons as the Rolex Explorer: simple, clean, could be an everyday watch. This just has a dressier look in my opinion, which is great since I can wear this with a suit when I have to!
