Still going strong

Little bit of trivia.

Got this watch when I was 13 (19 years ago). When I was 16 I was in a hot tub and didn’t realise there was a hole in the crystal. When I got out of the hot tub (after about 1.5 hours) the watch was literally filled with water, like a fish tank. I emptied the water out there and then through the same hole. Not only did the watch not stop, it still hasn’t stopped. And I’ve never had it serviced! Say what you will about Citizen, but they are bulletproof!

Awesome story mate. Maybe it's time to get that crystal replaced?

I don’t want to. I want to see how far it’s going to go. I don’t wear it anymore. I use it as a desk clock in my office. But it was my first proper watch, and I don’t really want to mess with it.

Mate, it cost like 20€ at any watch repair shop, done in 10 minutes. You would preserve it for longer, could even be a gift later on to somebody you deen worthy, just saying.

Don’t worry, there’s no hole in the crystal anymore. I filled it with superglue back in the day. I just want to keep the look. 😊

The metal protector popped out years ago. The deph gauge still works. Record 130feet. My project is to take it to your level one day.

I disagree. To me it's like not watering a flower. You can take care of it so why let it wither and die.

I understand. You should look up the concept of wabi sabi. It’s the idea that an object gains spirit through use. A flower is not such an object. Many people feel a watch is (like a award, or a person).
