My 1970's Timex time machine

I received this Timex today, it's just an old 70's diver manual wind up. But what makes this special to me is that's it's exactly the same as my very first watch.

I used to wear my original one all the time. But one fateful day I found out you can recharge the luminous paint by holding it up to a light.

So I thought it would be a good idea to rest it above a light.

My bedside light was perfect for the job, so I just left it for a while, remember this was the 70's no LED lights back then and the bulbs used to get very hot.

All was well until I smelt burning turns out the crystal melted all into the watch 😲 to say I was gutted was an understatement.

On the plus side that Christmas I got a Casio calculator watch which I loved until a couple of years later the buttons decided to fall out 😞.

But I shall keep this little Timex and every time I look at it I will be transported back to the 70's and very much a carefree time.
