Best strap combos
To me, a watch isn't complete until you find that perfect strap for it. I rarely ever keep a watch on the strap it came on, because it is often not the best match or the quality of the strap isn't the best. I also don't like that "stock look" and like to add character to my watches.
Another issue I have is with a bigger wrist, alot of times the stock strap is shorter than I would like. I hate when the excess strap bearly reaches pass the keepers.
That being said, I've bought few custom straps from etsy and other places, and I must say I often prefer the feel and softness of those straps more than the original. Another place is amazon, where you can get a bunch of inexpensive straps that will give that boring watch an upgrade.

Agree with you that original strap usually needs to be upgraded. I love fun straps, new straps/bracelets, different approach to straps, but i also love when it’s just basic matching, finds like this combo:
