Ocean One Review

I ended up trading my seiko turtle for this steinhart and I'm glad I did.   While it's one of hundreds of submariner copies it's one of the better ones imo.

While I would have likely bought the 42mm version I'm really enjoying the smaller size, despite my larger wrist.

The familiar case shape wears comfortably on the wrist and and female end links enhance the wearability.  The bracelet is a 20mm that tapers to 16mm and has a milled clasp with 4 micro adjusts. Though I like the bracelet on my ball better this is one of the better ones I've personally worn.

While I haven't looked up the thickness on other 300m watches I feel this one is reasonably thin at 13mm.  The watch uses the eta2824-2 movement which I'm a fan of  my particular watch has been running +2 seconds since I got it a couple months ago.

*lume shot from steinhart, I apparently didn't take one

Lume is pretty bright and does last a you'd expect with a dive watch.   And the crystal has two layers of AR which really helps with the visibility.

While I did take some points off for the dial it is legible and well made there just no originality to it.  I get that it's an homage but still.

The bezel does have a nice sound I'm just wishing it was easier to get a good grip on it.   I find my myself giving the bezel a quick wipe after each time I use it since my fingers can't grip the sides as easy as other dive watches I have.

Overall I came up with 4 out of 5 and I'm definitely going to get another steinhart or two.

Interesting homage. Looks good. Hope feels good as well. I was always sceptical to homage watches but consciously decided to try one and bought the most copying copy of all by Sugess. It can boast great crystal with AR coating, good lume, really nice bezel with ceramic insert, nice bracelet with milled clasp and glide adjustment. It's like wearing a Rolex knowing it's not a Rolex and I would never wear one comfortably. Now I am a little less sceptical.

Good and fair review! I’m loving my Steinhart 904 Premium model.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Ocean One 39mm. With the ETA movement it is a great value!

I tore my brains out trying to decide on a Submariner homage for several weeks. The Steinhart was high on my list. In the end I got so confused with bang for the buck stuff and all the other factors that I burned out, threw in the towel, lost all of my pride and ordered a "replica" (fake) Sub.

That actually looks really impressive. Who makes it? Is that 904L Steel too?

Forgot to add a lume shot if my steinhart. I’m not a fan of the lume on the bezel after a quick charge. But the overall the quality is excellent. 904L steel is something else in person.

It is still on the way. I doubt it at that price. Hopefully as they say, it is 316 though.
