Lorier Neptune

I've had this watch for six months so it's time for a review.  While it's not my favorite watch in the collection it's up there.  It was my first microbrand, first 28,800 beat rate movement, and first hesalite acrylic crystal.  It's not a perfect watch but for the price it's pretty damn good and I don't hesitate to recommend it.  Let's start at the top and work down.

The acrylic crystal is pretty cool, true it scratches easier than sapphire but that's easily solved with some polywatch.  I really like the distortion you get from certain angles.

Proportionally the bezel looks great but I wish it was either a little taller or slightly wider so it would be easier to grip.  That said it has a nice crisp action and is fun to play with when I feel the need.

The dial has a nice classic look and is easy to read.   I appreciate the minimal approach to text keeping everything clean looking.

Lume is acceptable, easy to read though not as bright as some watches.  The upcoming Series IV has a new hour hand and a partially lumed bezel insert which I think is a nice upgrade.

The 39mm case is a bit small on my wrist but it wears really nicely. The bracelet tapers from 20mm to 16mm and is comfortable.

The clasp, I'm my opinion, is the weak point of the watch.   When I first got the watch I had it pop open a couple times so it would be nice to see a redesign on that.

The Miyota 90S5 is a great choice.   It helps keep the on the thinner side and the higher beat rate makes for a smoother sweep of the second hand.   The rotor can be a bit loud when it really spins up but that amuses me so I'm treating that as a plus.

Overall I'm impressed with this watch and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. It's a 4.4 from me.

I love mine. I'm kind of disappointed that they aren't bringing back the blue on white Neptune but I will buy the new bracelet when it becomes available.
