Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I got introduced in the beautiful mechanical watch world and fell in love immediately.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
It was in Junghans handwound for boys. Gifted to me in 1986 from my parents.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I treasure the watch of my late father. I never wear it. I just make sure that it catches some sunlight. He was so proud of his Citizen Eco-Drive. Not because of how much it was worth or who gifted it. It was the first watch he bought for himself. He was proud of the solar function and how affordable it was.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
do not shot from the hip. take your time and save for the „real“ ones.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Seiko, Tudor and Sinn
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Rolex Sub no date. Because a really cool guy, an old friend of the family, owned one when I was a child. He did everything with this watch. Biking, hiking, diving, surfing, repairing, constructing. I learned a lot from this guy. But not that you just need one watch. He was a one watch guy. I know that I am not until I own a Sub?
