I used to join a few guys some mornings for a coffee near my old office, one of the guys in his late 80s wore a 90s Rolex Datejust gifted to him by his rich wife that always stopped despite a full service by Rolex Canada, I would unscrew the crown and manually wind the watch which was older and did not have an extended power reserve. Additionally the senior was not exactly active, he hated that watch because it reminded him that time is not infinite, waits for no one! He offered to sell me the watch but it was not a deal I wanted since it was a gift from his wife, I ignored his negative comments about life with a chain smoking rich spouse who stayed in bed all day long. I suggested he give the watch to his older son a very successful lawyer who did not wear a watch. He said that his son was a big guy, the 36mm Rolex would be too small for him, lol. My friend was at least 6ft 2inches tall but had quite slender wrists. I have learned that my old client is now in his late 90s in a home, sadly his wife has passed, his son wears the Rolex happily.
