First Polywatch experience

I've had the Lorier Neptune for about 5 months and hadn't accumulated any noticeable scratches on the crystal, or at least any I thought were worth getting worked up about. Then yesterday I brushed it against a wall at home and got very visible scuffing and/or residual paint on it that wouldn't go away with just water and a cloth (where "cloth" = "my shirt"). So out came the Polywatch and (appropriate) cloth that came with the Neptune, and a couple minutes later, all seems well.

Admittedly, using a loupe (also for the first time), I can see some remaining scuffs and a couple other scraches I hadn't noticed before. But as those of you across the UK way might say, I can't be arsed to keep polishing and get all that out. Especially since I don't plan wearing a loupe like a monocle. Maybe another time when the crystal picks up more dings and scratches.

I know tolerances for crystal scratching vary a lot, but curious to hear others' experiences with buffing hesalite, how satisfactory/frustrating the results are, etc. Happy Sunday and watch nerding to all!

I happend to scratch my Timex M79 and got some nice results using Polywatch as well. Like you, I still had some minor scratches left after polishing, but not visible to the naked eye. I was thinking about a Lorier and my Timex is my trial version for a hesalite crystal ;)

Have to admit, I get annoyed but the frequency of scratches on my Neptune’s crystal. Love the watch, but…

Ive had multiple Loriers, never had any issues with the crystals. Had a Falcon 2, have a Hyperion gilt v1, and had a Safari -- wore the Falcon and the Hyperion as dailies for nearly a year each and while I sold the Falcon, the Hyperion still looks brand new (on the crystal at least).

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing! That is, getting a cheaper "trial" hesalite watch. But I ultimately decided to just jump in to get the watch I actually wanted, and haven't regretted it. The Timex is a nice watch in its own right though!

I get that, though actually feel that more with the bracelet (desk diving scuffs) than with the crystal. But still not annoyed enough to make any effort to polish my bracelet either....

Interesting - did you use Polywatch often, rarely?

Every couple months, but only as needed. I don't consciously baby my watches, but maybe I'm just less clumsy than others? No idea.
