Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
My dad loves collecting watches, and I got it from him after he gifted me my first watch (a Seiko solar in gold).
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch I ever owned was a Seiko Solar in gold on a jubilee bracelet.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic accompanied me on my travels to Mexico. I wore it for dinners and on adventures through it’s cities and rural areas. While hot air ballooning close to pyramids outside of Mexico City, our balloon was pushed over the pyramids due to strong winds. We emergency landed in the archeological zone and have cool pictures of my Hamilton and the pyramids.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Research the watches you want to buy and give it time before you pull the trigger. It is so easy to impulse buy.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
The brand that currently has my attention is Tissot, specifically the PRX. I think it’ll be my next purchase. Update end of 2023: goal for 2024 is a Tudor!
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
My grail watch is Rolex Explorer or a Submariner. I love the tool-tastic nature of both. It wouldn’t be a safe queen and would definitely be worn.
