Guilloche.
I've seen videos of this machine in use to machine elaborate designs into dials. Read that it takes the guy machining the dials 8 hours just to make one.
I've looked at their website and looked at the dials.
Yes I realise it is the work of a master craftsman, but I'm underwhelmed. When this was the only method available to make such elaborate dials, it was something to shout about. But the finish can be reproduced by modern manufacturing techniques.
Would most people be able to tell the difference? Maybe when held in the hand it is a better experience than a photo can tell?
I know that some people will want one because it is handmade.
We all want/ need / afford different things. No judgement here, just voicing my humble opinion.
UPDATE
I previously only looked at a link that was given in the news section of watchcrunch.
Thought I'd better see if there were any photos on their own website. Found something, just reinforced my opinion.
But then I found a video showing the dial.
My heart skipped a beat. 😍
I tried to take a screenshot, but it doesn't do it justice, and it was blurred.
Have a look at the article about the guy😱
Slightly eccentric, wicked sense of humour. Self confessed watch cheapskate, who tinkers with watches. Love motorbikes, to date, I've ridden about 250,000 miles, 113,000 of which are on my BMW 1150GS....

I was a bit apprehensive about Atelier Wen in the beginning. Thought it was a cultural appropriation play but after talking to the founders and community and seeing the watches, I purchased a Perception Shadow. Should arrive in 2-3 weeks and cannot wait!
They look great in photos and they look even better in person.
