That’s sad to hear, I understood from my watchmaker that Omega is doing this to various models like the Seaweed SMP300 and such pieces. Really do not hope that Omega will become like Rolex in that way…
Hi!
i’ve owned the watch for over a year now. The watch is still in my collection. I have the same feeling as you about the brand with the crown, that’s very high up on my waitlist.
Only advice I can give you is that the Seamaster is a different watch then the Submariner. I love them both for what they represent individually, if the Seamaster will be somewhat of a ‘replacement’ for the Sub I can’t recommend it.
Personally I really like the helium escape valve, wave dial, movement and sword hands on the Seamaster. Then one day I‘d want a sub and don’t really wesr my SMP. The other I love the SMP for it’s history and character and find myself wearing it for weeks. The sub will probably be coming this year, and for now I still don’t see the Seamaster leaving the collection as that day comes.
I have actually, then my watchmaker told me that watches that have been magnetized always tend to run fast instead of slow. Just to be sure we had demagnetized it but unfortanetely didn't do anything.
