I currently have 41 watches after 3 years of buying, selling, trading. 17 are vintage pieces that are for special occasions and collection curating. 3 are family or gifts including my Great grandfather's 1926 Elgin pocket watch. The rest I do rotate through the rest for the month.
I try to focus on the original Chinese designs so steer towards vintage but I have/had have some homages. As others have argued they are a good economic way to test fit a luxury watch or general style when you can't find an AD with one.
I love my Hrouland Aviator which is an homage of the Zenith Type 20 bronze. I tried a Zenith one at Disney during a vacation with my GF. We both loved the look and feel of the Zenith but couldn't justify the price especially at the time. The Hrouland which comes in at $350 vs $5k was a great compromise. I wonsay that the quality is the same but it's definitely 95%.
I also purchased a Pagani Designs "Steve McQueen" to test before hunting down a higher grade homage ha the original cost as much as a house so thats a no go.
Also totally agree with the statements on the Loreo. Great watch for price.
