Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I made the mistake of joining Watchgang to get into the hobby, but once I realized my mistake I canceled the sub. I've since really upped my game, just wish I could find some in person meet ups in my area to discuss the hobby.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

The first real watch I ever owned was a Tissot V8 Swissmatic, with the disposable movement lol. I still have it, but no longer wear it.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

My Tudor 1926 2-Tone 39mm was purchased from Jomashop real cheap ($1,850) brand new. The darn thing started stopping at the 2 o'clock position after having it about a month, with it receiving no damage. I was very wary of sending it back to Joma for service seeing as I've heard nothing but bad things about their warranty service. I took it to Mayors in Alpharetta GA. and to my surprise they sent it into Rolex who actually honored the factory warranty that I never even received. The whole ordeal only cost me $90 for shipping, and it came back good as new with a two year warranty.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Take your time, and definitely go to some shops to try the watches on before purchasing. You should also never settle, once you set your sights on a specific "grail" save up and don't get tempted once you've got a couple grand in the bank, let the money keep building for the watch you really want. I've settled so many times, and now I have 40 plus watches.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Christopher Ward has really been getting my attention, and I can see a fully bronze Dune green dial in my box soon.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

I think the Rolex Explorer 39m black dial is the perfect watch. It's elegant and tooly, simple and complex.......simply put its absolute perfection. I'm also real partial to Tudors Black Bay 58, and the Black Bay .925.
