Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

Fascinated by mechanical movements. Orient Ray was my first mechanical watch.

Orient Ray v1 in blue.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

Seiko Alpinist SARB017 was the first gift and watch ever given to my by my then girlfriend and now wife. It’s been with me through college degrees, jobs, careers, travels, hospital visits. It’s been serviced once already by Seiko and still working and looking nearly like new (with a few faint battle scars of course).

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Buy what you can afford, sell what you don’t like, keep what you love.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Omega, Hamilton, Tudor, as well as many micro brands.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Grand Seiko Snowflake or Speedmaster 3861. Although I’ve already owned the Speedmaster.
