I started looking at watches because I wanted to look and feel more composed. I didn’t understand how massive the hobby was until I started doing my homework. Once I realized the history, functionality, and beauty of the hobby, I knew I wanted to start a collection.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
No. When I find a watch in some sunken pirate treasure, I'll let everyone know.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Quality timepieces exist in every price range. I doubt I’ll ever own a watch much over a few hundred dollars. That’s fine with me. I know my budget. You don’t have to be at the top of the hobby to enjoy it or be a member of the community.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I’m a Casio man. It’s a brand for everyone. HMT also fascinates me as well. The story is interesting.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
The Seiko Presage SRPD37J1 is probably the watch I would buy right now if money was no object. The Mockingbird green dial is absolutely stunning.
