Got given since I was a kid, wored it back than before starting to use casios. And interestingly I kept this, but not those old g shocks. Apart from those DOT indecies on the bezzel losing colour, my still works with about 10minutes slower a day 😂😂. Need to learn how to service it myself.

Ordered the Aikon GMT. So from what i gathered

  • Aikon feels much more quality than PRX, PRX is simple and elegant, however it feels like it's worth, not a bad thing, but you wont get more than what you paying for. For Aikon finishing you do feel a few thousand above its price point (but Aikon do cost more than PRX)
  • GMT model has inspiration from both RO only on the integrated bracket part. and Rolex Explorer on the dial colour, but with Aikon's own bezel style that you wont see in others its ceramic with metal coverings part of the ceramics. PRX is purely RO design, and they simplified it to their own language.
  • I feel that PRX is more or less only a fashion watch, Aikon has more Utilities,  200m / 300m water resistance depending on model, its more a beater watch for me, will take it to adventure and travel, wont mind putting scratches on it. the design can mix easily with more strap options.
commented on The Eternal debate -- 1 expensive watch or many cheap watches... ·

Your taste shouldnt be defined by the pricing, my most expensive so far is the JLC mut perpetual, KC joker, brietling down to microbrands and than 50 bucks vostok from the 40s. Now Im more keen to get stuff like Berhens, seiko kinetic sportura, bulova accutron 214.

My brietling to me is somewhere in the middle, but its my most special piece, my first luxury watch. And than the spinnaker where I had a few close calls with.

Other watches are just for appriciation or enjoyment.

Although I would suggest buy something a bit more pricy for a special occasion so that you are building memory with rather than just a toy. This especially happens when you got the Impulse and buys too many at once... Just happened to me last month. Got 3 new pieces, I love them but sadly no connection.

But stick to your budget, I tend to cap myself to 3 months of income a year to spend on anything fun. If it exceeds your 3 months than accumulare it for a few years

I was looking at a hruodland homage to the oak, and also was looking at some of the Bronze watches from iwc, zenith, oris and longines, than I found the Green dial Aikon with Bronze casing

JLC dont make watches, they make time machines. I more keen for JLC, H Moser, to be in the trinity. I love to get a A Lanage, but they too similar to PP compare to the other two, not enough to replace it

I have a perpetual calendar on a normal winder and a moonphase/calendar on a orbital winder if not wearing. The others with just a date window just set when I wear them, doesnt require much effort.

I wanted the caley but sold out and got the farer morgan instead, its quite an elegant take on the flieger design. I feel that Farer is one of those that feeling a bit of underwelm at first, but it grows on you, its now getting more wrist time between my behrens, brietling and jaeger
