So I started buy having 1 or 2 watches, then I wanted to replace a watch, and I did, so I got a collection started, I’m up to 8 pieces now, and I want a few more, within my limited budget, so as you can see I have Casios, but I’m going to go off brand too.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I can’t actually remember it, but I can tell you that it was when I was very young, some 35 years ago, and my father kept telling off for constantly looking and checking the time, lol.
The start of my collect now is the Casio W-E10, now no longer in production, and a great workhorse, unfortunately the crystal took a big hit, and has a monster scratch on it, and the painted case has worn off but looks pretty good (patina effect).
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not yet, but I do have a Casio Lineage, it was a birthday gift from my mother, it was a small wedge of change, so I guess that may count, even if it’s a cliche.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
As new collector myself, I would say do research, don’t do an impulse buy, if you are spending at the top of you’re budget, but from a good seller, beware of fakes.
