US Miliary watch?

Does anyone know anything about this watch? Although I don’t wear it much anymore, it has been in my collection for years. When I bought it, the watch was advertised as “worn by officers in the US army”. The brand is Mil-Eagle and its movement is a “Military Quartz" (sic! - another name for a Ronda movement, I think). I was a little sceptical about the military aspect, but when I was wearing it once, a friend noticed it and said when he had picked up a similar watch owned by a colleague at work. He had been told in no uncertain terms to put it down as the guy had worn it “in the [US Marine] Corps.” Understandably he obeyed! I would be interested if anyone knows the true story behind the watch.

Thanks

Watches with a supposed tie to the military have been around for some time. Phrases like "worn by officers n the US Army" are just marketing tag lines. Servicemen of all ranks wear any number of watch brands from Timex to Rolex so it doesn't mean much. You see a lot of these type watches advertised in magazines and on cable TV. I think the guy from Pawn Stars was shilling one a couple years ago.

Military quartz is a new one on me. All my quartz are civilian quartz.

Some brands are issued watches in various militaries(Marathon, CWC), and others get permission to use the logo for marketing(CW, Citizen).
