About 30 years ago my Father bought me an old railroad grade pocket watch at an auction. I've been interest in mechanical watch movements ever since. Several years ago our youngest child moved out for the last time and suddenly we had some extra money. I bought my first mechanical watch a short time after that.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Seiko SNK809 was the first automatic watch I ever owned. I had quite a few Timex, Fossil, fashion watches when I was younger.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Collect what you like, doesn't matter what others/experts says is the best or greatest. If you like it and want to wear it then go for it, Watches is one of the things that we can all express our own individuality & creativity with.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Seiko, Grand Seiko, King Seiko, Longines, Tudor, Farer, Piaget, Breuget, Credor, Normana, Alpina, Formex, Royal Orient, Orient Star
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Piaget for the movements, the sheer thinness of the altiplano. Breguet for the style & complications and Grand Seiko for the dials.
