Explorer 1 vs Datejust
Looking for my first Rolex.
Both watches are 36mm.
Which one would you chose?
Can’t go wrong with Datejust but I feel like I will spend more time with explorer1 as daily.

I agree. At least for me I think the explorer is better as a daily. Both are killer watches though!
I‘d say it also depends on whether you want everyone to know you‘re wearing a Rolex or not. The Explorer is way less recognisable by non-watch people.
Datejust way too blingy, Exp1 will be appropriate for pretty much any situation.
How about goijng halfway? A more conservative dial (silver/blue/black) on the datejust, with a domed bezel. For me, the main draw is the Rolex jubilee bracelet. The silky smooth comfort.
If you dress up for work, the datejust is perfect. If you’re like me and work from home, the explorer is the choice! Can’t go wrong, really. Enjoy the journey!
