Here stateside, it’s back to work after a long weekend. Put on the reissue 34mm Timex Marlin. Thank goodness there’s very little bezel, it actually doesn’t look too small on my wrist. I’ll agree it looks a little small, but not too small. Have a good week crunchers!

Thanks Danilo, what convinced me was the sunburst dial with its retro font and it runs like a champ.

Haha, I like it, Mark.. "it looks a little small, but not too small". To me the size is perfect. My vintage Marlin is 35mm and I think the size is great. The only reason it doesn't get more wrist time is. I consider it a dressy watch, and I'm really not a dressy kind of guy. Chris @DAF_punk has a 34mm Omega he wears on a Bund strap, which looks pretty neat. I think watch trends are beginning to downsize again.. you could be ahead of the trend.

Thanks John, with a 190.5 mm wrist, a 34mm watch can seem like a thong, not covering much 😂! I agree the Marlin is more of a dress watch and I mainly enjoy divers, fields, and pilots but I liked its look and made in the US connection.

Watches do seem to be trending smaller, so try before you buy is of great importance, a bund could fill out a smaller one, I might give that a try with some old watches my father gave me to tinker with. 👍

That's hilarious, Mark, but I get your point. I forget that not everyone has my small wrists.

Its interesting that you bought it for its made in US connection. I've now got a third vintage Timex because of their made in Scotland connection.

I got to know an old guy last year (a neighbour at one of our House Sits) and he wore an old Timex Sprite (about 31mm iirc) on a Bund. And it looked perfect. I might have to get a bund for myself, soon

‘Certifiable Statesian classic! Every time I look at a Marlin reissue, I want to wear one. It’s a perfect size for my 16.5 cm wrists and I’ve wanted to get an affordable manual-wind mechanical that I don’t have to take extra care of (like with my vintage Soviet watches). I like winding my watches.

…I think I just talked myself into getting a Marlin reissue lol.

Dang. Now I think I’ll have to get a bund strap if I ever get a Marlin reissue
