Waltham Question?

I’m going through the weirdness box of odd watches. I used to buy watch assortments on eBay. I got this years ago and it was fast, (very magnetized) I didn’t understand watch magnetism back then. I just demagnetized it and it seems to be doing ok. Can anyone tell me anything about this 21 jewel Waltham?

It should be from the 1960’scant find a specific name though. Maybe if you can open the case back you have more information.

I'll see if I can find anything, that serial number suggestion may be your best bet. It will at least tell you when the movement was manufactured. Assembly and sale of the watch usually follow not that long after (with some exceptions).

Waltham is a famous American brand and was made in Waltham Massachusetts. Although the name survives today the original company was a quartz crisis victim. I've been to the Waltham Museum after donating one of my grandfathers three Waltham watches. I noticed the people in Massachusetts pronounce the name Walt-Ham.

I want to take the back off but my watch knife is shit and I’m afraid I won’t be able to get the back on without a press.

If you are in a hurry just take it to a jeweler you know and ask them to open it up for you. You can get an inexpensive press from Harbor Freight or just order up a nice one and be done with it. I have the cheap Harbor Freight one and it works in a pinch.

Excellent watch! More than likely radium lume, so just don't crush up the lume and breathe it in!

I want to, then again I want a time-grapher first. Money is stupid tight just now.
