It looks like a medic watch based on the fact that it has a pulsometer. Mido is a good brand, and The Multifort line has been around since before WWII, but yours obviously doesn’t look as old as that. Here’s some history from the Mido website.
Just reading on this Mido Multifort Automatic - show that it is Swiss made (seem to have three scales for taking the pulse) and is especially "AQUADURA" 50m water resistant, made in stainless steel, have a sapphire crystal and look like a rather modern vintage revival, maybe of a doctors watch...

I can’t speak to the specific watch, but pulsometers are meant to help healthcare folks measure a patient’s pulse without having to count out a full minute. It’s a cool thing, and I plan to buy one at some point, but anybody who counts pulses can do that just as easily in their head so I don’t think it has much real-world value. But to be fair, who here has measured the speed of a race car or horse with a tachometer?
It’s a cool watch on its own, and if it came from a family member, it’s 2x cooler. Enjoy.
Looks like a Mido Multifort M8830.4.7.48 a.k.a. the "Mido Pulsemeter"

You’ve got the serial number and inside of the movement to tell you much more

You can try to contact Mido in Switzerland directly.
I haven’t seen this model before but given the movement & condition it’s definitely from recent years. I really like this, what are the dimensions?
