Spotted Unimatic boutique in Milan

Only standard models in-store, which is surprising for a flagship store.

Tried a couple on and the 40mm fitted very nicely on my 19cm wrist.

Couldnt justify buying one because - despite its minimalist look - they don't look distinct or unique enough. At least to me.

I agree with you, although their success I persobally find them too plain. I live in Milan and still no interest about their watches

I love Unimatic watches & have 4 currently. They are however a decent £500/£600 watch, no more than that. Some of the prices that I see people asking on Chrono24 for them are just ridiculous. There appears to be a perception that they are somehow way, way better than they actually are. The company itself has ranked up the price in the last 18 months to levels that simply are not value for money. I haven't bought one since.

Bang on, Luca. Just a little too plain for my taste too.

Nice! I think you're so right about the price point.

I like that you can choose between Seiko and Selita movements to make it fit in budget. But I also feel that flexibility diminishes credibility from the watches themselves. That's how I feel anyway...

I have to admit that my judgement of a watch is hugely influenced by it's aesthetics & price, the movement etc isn't something I worry about too much.

I love some of the colour combinations they use, particularly the white dials they have come out with. I just can't justify to myself to spend what they're asking for their latest watches, which is a pity as I do love them. I'd buy a Christopher Ward, a Sinn instead, far better value for money. Unimatic are getting to a price level that is comparative to lower end Longines models. I'd buy a Longines ahead of a Unimatic every day of the week.
