Then there were six.
I've found new homes for two more watches leaving just six in my collection. They went to close friends so it's not as if they are lost or sold but I'm really not finding the process of reducing my collection to its core liberating or cathartic. More a sense of loss and mourning. Never mind there's plenty more fish in the sea 😉

I would have trouble doing what you did but admire your decision and resolve. I intend to trim a few watches from my collection by gifting to family members at appropriate events during the next few years but unless I also alter my buying habits might actually increase not decrease the number.

I didn't intend to reduce my collection but my eldest son has started collecting and that made my other four children interested and.......

I understand perfectly, luckily for me I only have 2 fiercely competitive daughters looking for meaningful watches from my pile, lol. My son in law prefers G-Shocks but was thrilled when I gifted him 2 of my gently worn Breitling watches, his joy increased when a certain talented NBA player became a brand ambassador for Breitling since the young man loves the sport.
