Watches in movies vs real life

I'm pretty sure I see steel bracelets in real life a lot more than I see them in movies/TV.

Am I mistaken? Seems like everyone on screen is wearing leather. No?

(I don't mean action / gangster films. I mean movies with regular people. Lawyers, offices, dramas, etc.)

Likely depends on where you live, and who you're seeing. I see more leather and cloth in real life than bracelets.

I don't see enough of either to have an opinion but I'm guessing that the reflectivity is potentially problematic for filming. I recall that James May finally had it explained to him why they made him take his watch of for filming, as reflections caused issues with the green screen (chromakey or whatever). Also, they may make a little noise? Plus the things have to be sized.
