Titanium Dive Watch for 199 pounds ($250)????? Read on for this Saturday's Kickstarter campaign

Just received an email from the folks at Vaymont/TC-9 (a British microbrand) about Saturday's Kickstarter campaign for their current version of the Vaymont Titanium Dive Watch.

You can get all of the details here...

I have two Vaymonts already in the collection and they are excellent value and cool watches...very well made...

These are the same folks who made all those great TC-9 watches, so don't hesitate if you want to add a cool watch to your collection for a great price.

I know I am an idiot for writing about this before Saturday, because now I am creating greater competition for those early bird prices. But I am a giver...and I probably don't need any more watches in my collection (but I'll probably buy this one anyway...they're just so cool).

Here are some of the TC-9 releases from the past...

Thanks for sharing. That’s a great price for a lump of titanium, let alone a functional watch. I will say I don’t love companies using such distinctive hands. I realize there are only so many options, but Mercedes hands scream Rolex, and snow flake hands scream Tudor. It may not be fair, but I find it distracting when they show up on other brands.

Did they completely redo the company? Or is this a side project?

Love my Bronze TC-9, granted it doesn't get much wrist time since it gets gnarly fast in the field.

Apparently, they are revising the web site for TC-9 and launched Vaymont as a sister brand to TC-9.

I asked them about this when the TC-9 web site disappeared. Sounds like they are focused on Vaymont at present.

I'm really pleased with the two that I have...much better quality than what you get from others for that price.

Interesting pattern on the TI straps. Never seen carbon fiber finish.

Unless that's all carbon fiber, then I'm impressed and will check them out.

Is it Gr 2 or Gr 5 TI?

The strap is made of carbon fiber with the connectors made of titanium. The titanium for both is grade 2 titanium and the write-up indicates the case was made from German titanium.

The carbonite diver also runs the Seiko NH72a Ruthenium movement, which is a pretty cool variation from the standard NH35A.

Interesting. I'll have to watch them. Thanks.

I like the finish they did on the case. Swap the black leather band for a grey silicone and done!
