I was given watches by family members throughout my childhood, from Casios to divers. Stopped wearing a watch for a while until I started working at a restaurant, bought an Apple Watch, which reignited my interest in mechanical watches, my interest has grown exponentially since.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
All of them, that’s what I love about watches. I attach watches to significant events in my life initially, then make memories and stories as I go.
Ex.
Gifted Tag Heuer Formula 1 at F1 US Grand Prix
Pro-Diver Beater all over Mexico in under water caves etc.
many more…
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy inexpensive but quality, not cheap. Skip the very cheap homage watches from unknown/copy-cat brands (but I’m guilty myself)
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Seiko, Tissot, Tudor
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Tudor Black Bay 58
- Dive Watch
- Not a Submariner
- Black Dial with Red triangle on bezel and gilt hands
- 38mm
- Extremely Attainable over time
