Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I have always enjoyed watches, but just never owned one. Once I started it was all downhill.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
When I was a child? a Lorus Mickey Mouse watch. As an adult? Casio G-Shock DW-5600HR-1
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Sadly, no. I just collect what I like, as simple as that.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Dive in! Buy what you like, don’t hesitate. Tastes change, what you love today may not be what you love tomorrow, but chase your passions! That watch can always be sold down the line.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Longines, Hamilton, Tudor.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Rolex Explorer II. I get it, Rolex is not a very imaginative answer, and their value is certainly questionable… but I’ve always wanted a GMT and it was my choice from the very beginning nearly 10 years ago. If Tudor comes out with a Black Bay ‘Prolar’ then all bets are off.
