Remembering Wristi
There will never be another Wristi.
If you have been in this hobby for some time and been on Instagram for many years, you likely knew Brandon “Carter” Combs as Wristi.
Wristi was an influencer before you there were influencers. He was a social media pioneer. Wristi’s watch shots were more about what was going on in the background than the watch itself. And the shots were epic. Stories were told in a single snap. It was art and chaos at the same time.
Sadly, Carter took his own life a few years ago. I didn’t know Carter personally, but I was shocked to hear about his passing. Depression doesn’t discriminate.
I tell this story because Wristi rekindled my love of the collecting hobby. If he was still around I’d find some way to thank him.
