Which one should I pick up?

Recently I've decided to focus my collection mainly around digital watches. Reason being mainly money. Iam very young for collecting watches (17) and don't have founds necessary for premium pieces and maintenance of mechanical movements.

That's why I decided that for now I am going to focus on digital timepieces. I've bought a few since I first saw the bulova Computron but it's always been on the back of mind. Now I think it's time to finally add it to my collection.

What remains is to decide whether I should get the gold one or the silver one. Iam honestly leaning towards the gold one because I think I really gives it this vintage look. My only concern being that it's almost entirely made out of gold and I might look like a douche wearing it thus it might end up in my drawer 😅. I like the silver one but I know it wouldn't scratch that itch.

Which one should I get? Or should I just leave it and consider other watches?

Go for gold and scratch that itch!

I say get the one that calls out to you the most and don’t worry about the way it might look. I thought the same as you when I was buying mine and I went with the gold because it is closer to the original red led version. At first, I thought I would only wear it for certain occasions, but it is such a classic and unique look that I wear it all the time, and I get great reactions.

What is your budget. There are many brands that are very affordable. Below $200 USD I have a few suggestions

Let's say I'd rather stay under $500

I know that the silver one is more rational choice but damn that gold looks awesome!

You stated that you were looking for a "premium" watch. Well that's all relative to be honest. Most micro brands offer more value for money than the "premium" brands that are always thrown around. Don't let the swiss only hype stifle your enjoyment.

Personally I'm a fan of Aragon, which offers extremely good quality for amazing prices. Collecting is a journey of self discovery, so take your time and enjoy yourself. There are plenty of mechanical/automatic watches that fit well below your budget that will blow your mind.

As for maintenance, most watches nowadays will run for 5 to 10 years before that's even a issue. Try some out and surprise yourself. 👍🏾✌🏾
