Other than replies etc this is my first 'proper' post. Be nice LOL! ๐
I'm looking for a watch with the following things, quartz, field watch style, 100m+ WR, with GMT and solar powered, budget ~ยฃ500GBP.
I like things that are easy to read and don't have too busy a dial, I've seen the Citizen Nighthawk and it does all the things but makes my brain fizz, think Timex Expedition type face.
I can find things that are close but am I searching for a unicorn?ย

I just got my Citizen Promaster gmt that fits that.ย
Solar powered quartz under 500, 200m wr real gmt complication, world time bezel the white on black makes it easy to read. Mine is the blacked out pvd coated one but they have a standard steel version as well.ย
That looks great, do you have the model number by any chance?

Oh yeah, that's great, I'm ordering it now, only one anywhere is the green one but that's cool. Thanks so much, was doing my head in, been looking for days!

I don't suppose you have a solar meca-quartz watch that's not a chrono? I'm thinking that's a real unicorn.

Sorry Iโve never heard of such a thing. Iโve had a few solar chronographs but a solar non chrono meca-quartz is a new one. However, Watch Crunch is the place to find it. Iโd make up post and ask the community. If it exists youโll find out soon.
Good luck. ๐

Thanks Matt, have already posted here on WatchCrunch. My post might still be up. I can't figure it out. It seems like a no-brainer. The two complaints against quartz watches are the battery changes and the one-tick second hand. A solar meca-quartz movement would solve both. Seiko's been making meca-quartz for years and Citizen and Seiko have been making low-cost solar movements forever.
I think a lot of people would buy a solar meca-quartz watch for around $200, and it would appeal to watch guys and non-watch guys alike. Would you buy one?

100% Iโd love one of them. Iโve been slowly moving away from non solar quartz watches and combining the solar meca-quartz would be as you say a no brainer.
