I am looking for a vintage watch that’s 38-42mm that’s affordable, any suggestions?

I don’t really need to get one, I have over 30 watches right now that are all in the $150-300 range except for like my Tissots, Seiko presages, and hamilton, but I would like to add a vintage just to have. It has to be 38 minium but I prefer 39-42. On eBay all I can find is a couple of Seikos that look really beat up. Any suggestions thanks

Wolbrook 1970-ish Skin diver. This one is a bit smaller and the world time variant but $34US.

If you're willing to consider smaller than 38mm you'll have a lot more choice and better value. Vintage watches were smaller. That's part of their identity and charm. Sorry to be blunt.

Vintage Timex are a fun way to experiment especially the electric and electronic ones. With a new battery they usually spring back into life, they were made in a ton of different styles and can be had for under $30.

For something higher quality I'd suggest searching for watches with "Incabloc" in the title and description. It's a form of shock protection which was widely used as a way of marketing quality Swiss movements that were used by many lesser known brands. They're often nice watches and offer much better value than the brands that have survived until today. At the upper end of your price range you can probably find examples in solid gold.

Here are some I've picked up over the years. All well under $300 and under 38mm, most 34mm. The gold ones are solid gold.

If you plan on keeping the vintage watch and wearing it regularly then it'll probably need a service - minimum $200.

Thanks @hakki501

Most of the bits I do tend to be 38mm or less. Most of the 60s/70s seikos were.

This is 37mm but it looks slightly bigger as the dial size:case size ratio is quite high...
