Thatโs a different kind of crazy. Whatโs itโs story? I like oddityโsโฆ what can you share about it?
In the 70s Ebauches SA created Memosail to sell yachting timers. These watches give a 15 minute countdown so that the boats can position themselves for the regatta.
This movement is a Valjoux 7733/4 which was a modified Valjoux 7737 that instead of a traditional minute counter has a 15 minute wheel that counts down (START10987654321). Even the minute track has countdown second numbers.
My Grandpa wore it often for its intended use. I found this in a drawer it had what looked like salt on the dial and it would barely wind. Got it serviced and it runs like a top.
Itโs weird itโs colorful and itโs back from the dead.

Had to time vitalsโฆthen bought another watchโฆthen anotherโฆI like dress and vintage but usually end up choosing something that can stand up to kids, food service, firefighter EMT stuff and saltwater.
